About KDU Kyushu Dental University Charter

Marking our 100th anniversary in 2014, Kyushu Dental University renews its dedication to expanding our holistic dental and medical education activities, as we enter the next 100 years of educating practitioners that can provide patient-centered dental care.
The Kyushu Dental University Charter has been established as the first step towards creating a university that fulfills this vision. All students, teaching staff, and personnel at Kyushu Dental University are committed to, and aspire to, fulfill the mission of the KDU.

The mission of Kyushu Dental University is to train dental care practitioners who possess a high level of professionalism and expertise, fulfill key roles in community health care, and promote research that supports dental medicine. This mission explains the kind of professional training, social contributions, and research that we strive to achieve.

Kyushu Dental University provides students with a high-quality liberal arts education and professional education, and trains accomplished individuals who practice patient-centered health care. To accomplish our mission, we set the following goals for the education and research we provide.

1. Training for dental care practitioners that are highly professional, broadly educated, and possess a high level of expertise and skills
2. Training for dental care practitioners that can correctly interpret scientific information and undertake dental care activities based on scientific evidence
3. Training for dental care practitioners that can provide dental care from the perspective of holistic health and adapt to changes in society, such as demographic changes
4. Training for dental care practitioners that can coordinate with people in other professions and support the local and regional communities through dental care
5. Training for dental care practitioners who can strengthen international cooperation and exchange and undertake dental care activities from a global perspective
6. To develop and conduct international research that can contribute to the development of the local and regional communities in cooperation with other disciplines
