Established in 1914 as the Private Kyushu School of Dentistry, Kyushu Dental University is celebrating its 100-year anniversary in 2014. With these long years of tradition, the university ushers in the next 100 years.

| 1924 | New college building was constructed in Imaizumi-cho, Fukuoka. |
| 1936 | College was moved to the new building in Manazuru-cho, Kokura. |
| 1944 | The administration was transferred to Fukuoka Prefecture with the establishment of Medical Course, and the college was renamed Fukuoka Prefectural College of Medicine and Dentistry. |
| 1947 | With the abolition of the Medical Course, the name of the college was renamed Fukuoka Prefectural College of Dentistry. Fukuoka Prefectural Senior High School under the old system of education was established. |
| 1949 | College was reorganized as Kyushu Dental College. |
| 1950 | Management of Fukuoka School of Dental Hygiene was transferred to Kyushu Dental College. |
| 1953 | Fukuoka School of Dental Hygiene was renamed Fukuoka Prefectural School of Dental Hygiene. |
| 1964 | Fukuoka Prefectural School of Dental Hygiene was renamed School of Dental Hygiene, Kyushu Dental College. |
| 1966 | Dental Graduate Course was opened. |
| 2006 | Public University Corporation was established. University School of Dental Hygiene was designated as a prefectural technical college. |
| 2010 | School of Oral Health Sciences was established. |
| 2011 | Conferred a certificate regarding Certified Evaluation and Accreditation from NIAD-UE(National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation). University School of Dental Hygiene was closed. |
| 2013 | English name changed from Kyushu Dental College to Kyushu Dental University. The 1st Asia-Pacific International Conference was held. |
| 2014 | The 2nd Asia-Pacific International Conference was held. Department of Oral Health Sciences was established in the Graduate School. 100th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony to be held. |
| 2015 | Academic exchange initiated between our University and Rangsit University in Thailand. Reconstruction of educational organization to 2 faculties,5 departments and 25 divisions. The 3nd Asia-Pacific International Conference was held. The Kyushu Dental University Charter was established. |
| 2016 | Reconstruction of educational organization to "School of Dentistry"(3 departments and 25 divisions), "School of Oral Health Sciences"(2 units) and "Section of Primary Dental Education". Establishment of endowed chair “Support for Senior Citizens”. Academic exchange initiated between our University and Taipei Medical University in Taiwan. The 4th Asia-Pacific International Conference was held. Opening ceremony for Dental Center for the Medically Compromised Patiend (DEMCOP) was held. |
| 2017 | Conferred a certificate regarding Certified Evaluation and Accreditation from NIAD-QE(National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education). The 5th Asia-Pacific International Conference was held. |
| 2018 | The 6th Asia-Pacific International Conference and Myanmar Night Festival was held. |
| 2019 | The 7th Asia-Pacific International Conference and Taiwan Night Festival was held. |
| 2021 | Academic exchange initiated between our University and Chung Shan Medical University in Taiwan. The 8th Asia-Pacific International Conference was held online during the COVID-19 pandemic. |
| 2022 | Establishment of endowed chair “Periodontal Medicine”. The 9th Asia-Pacific International Conference was held online during the COVID-19 pandemic. |
| 2023 | Conferred a certificate regarding Certified Evaluation and Accreditation from NIAD-QE(National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education). |
